Outside the office, Scott’s love of nature flourishes in the many gardens he and his wife Pat attend to at their home.  Many organic vegetables, flowers and fruit trees can be seen throughout their property.  When Scott is not in the office, or the garden, he is teaching the love of God through an enormous amount of mission work.

Her Art Studio is settled right amongst the beautiful gardens of the property.  Where she often gathers her inspiration for her paintings.

Chris Ventura

Interiors & Administration

Chris is one of the original employees of Scott Homes.  She is the reason the company runs smooth on a daily basis.  Chris is fluent in all our office software, making her an invaluable asset to the company.  You will enjoy Chris’s friendly personality as much as her keen eye for custom home design, as she works with all customers to aid in their choices of custom selections.  Outside the office, she cherishes her time spent with her sons and grandsons.

Cristy Kraus

Office Assistant

Cristy’s positive attitude and willingness to tackle any task makes her of great value to Scott Homes and its employees.  Cristy spent several years in the title/escrow industry as one of the top escrow officers prior to her family move to Olympia.  Recently Cristy received a Building Sciences Principles Certificate of Knowledge from BPI.  She also has a passion for sustainable energy, primarily solar power.  Cristy loves reading and spending time with friends and family in the outdoors.

Chad Schroeder

Head of Design, Drafting & IT

After some time away for college, Chad returned to his hometown of Olympia and began looking for work.  He picked up a job as a construction laborer to pay his bills and enrolled in flight school to be a helicopter pilot.  Chad’s employers recognized his abilities with computers and asked him to help out in the office where he began drawing house plans between his days doing hands on work in the field.  The combination of field experience and 10 years of drafting custom homes has placed Chad in charge of designing, drafting and pricing out all our custom home projects.  He has also built and programmed custom, wireless, solar powered, jobsite cameras.  He maintains the cameras and their associated services/programming along with all the computers and software used throughout our office.  Chad has also received his private helicopter pilot license, and is instrument rated.  In his spare time, he enjoys working in his shop, programming personal projects, and taking long motorcycle trips looking for new sights, experiences, and great food.

Steve Bull

Project Manager

Steve has always worked in the construction industry.  Building homes in the United States, Canada and Japan.  His work experience over the years covers just about every position possible.  From Design and Manufacturing, to Construction.  He spent several years building log and cedar homes.  Steve then worked to manufacture the log, sip, post & beam and stick built homes.  He was often called upon to build Sunrooms, Sun Canopies, and Room Additions.  One of Steve’s tasks at all his jobs was Quality Control, and still to this day Steve handles the quality control on every jobsite, during construction and throughout warranty.  His knowledge of all the elements of home construction is from on the job training, educational classes, reading and his desire to learn all there is to learn.  Staying up to date with technology, building science and construction techniques are how Steve works to build you the best home possible.

Jake Barlass

Field Supervisor

After serving in the Military, Jake has worked in the construction industry, both for commercial and residential construction companies.  Jake has held a variety of positions for the few companies he has worked for.  Owners are quick to realize Jake’s knowledge and have him manage their projects. Overseeing the construction of neighborhoods for production builders and now overseeing our Custom Home projects, which have many more details.  He has a great work ethic, and fully understands the science behind home construction.  Jake is so passionate about energy efficiency and high performance, that he recently built his own home to the standards that Scott Homes follows.  Jake’s knowledge of building science allows him to keep the sub-contractors on schedule and job delays to a minimum.   Jake is a world renowned traveler.  Thoroughly enjoying backpacking through our great wilderness.  Jake considers being the father to his three children to be the greatest job of all.

Julio Cortes

Laborer

Julio is a fantastic asset to Scott Homes.  Julio loves working in the Green Energy Efficient Home Construction field as he studied Sustainable Energy in college.  His knowledge of construction was only expanded upon after working in the plumbing industry for several years. He loves being outdoors.  Whether it’s working, organic gardening or hiking, Julio always has a smile to share.
